We’re thrilled to introduce the full Fox Real Estate team, now five strong and scattered across Portugal to better guide you wherever your relocation adventure takes you.

Lisbon

Aurélien, Filipa, and Antônio, are our relocation experts based in Lisbon, helping clients settle into the rhythm of city life, whether that means finding the perfect apartment in Alfama or your new favorite café in Campo de Ourique.

Antônio, by the way, is our newest team member, joining us this August!

Aurélien will keep going once a month to the Algarve to keep up with new property developments and answer clients queries about relocating in the region.

Porto

Jeffrey, originally from the U.S., moved to Portugal three years ago and now helps clients find their ideal homes in Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, and the Greater Porto region. HAving relocated himself to Portugal, Jeffrey can easily relate to fellow Americans and share own experience.He’s the go-to person for our northern adventurers.

Coimbra

Craig, based in Coimbra, has a particularly special story, he first came to us as a client relocating to Portugal with his partner two years ago. Fast forward to today, and he’s part of the Fox team, helping others find their happy place in the heart of Portugal. Proof that life here really can come full circle!

🎭 A Night to Remember: The Fox Get-Together in Lisbon

In October, we hosted our very first Fox Real Estate Get-Together, an evening where clients, business partners, and friends came together over food, drinks, and an unforgettable cabaret performance.

The goal? To connect the dots between people who’ve made Portugal their new home — because moving here isn’t just about finding a property; it’s about building a community.

Most of our clients arrive knowing few people, so nights like this are our way of saying: you’re not just relocating, you’re joining a family.

The evening was filled with laughter, clinking glasses, and a few spontaneous dance moves (we won’t name names). It reminded us why we do what we do — to help people feel they belong.

🗞️ Immigration Update: A Change in Citizenship Rules

For those considering the long-term move to Portugal, here’s some important news.

As of November 2025, the Portuguese government has updated the citizenship timeline for foreign residents. The new law extends the minimum residency period from 5 years to 10 years before you can apply for Portuguese citizenship.

While this change might seem significant, Portugal remains one of Europe’s most welcoming countries for expats, offering multiple residence permit options and, of course, that unbeatable lifestyle. As a Portuguese resident, Europe is at your doorstep, offering many travel opportunities.

🌰 A Taste of November in Portugal: São Martinho Season

While November often signals the start of the festive season in the U.S., here in Portugal, it’s all about São Martinho, the unofficial start of winter and the perfect excuse for good food, good company, and a little wine. Here, in the Lisbon region, they are best enjoyed with some Carcavelos fortified wine.

If you’ve been strolling through Lisbon, Porto, or even the quiet streets of smaller towns, you’ve likely caught that irresistible aroma of roasted chestnuts drifting through the air. Street vendors roast them over small mobile braziers, wrapping the warm, smoky treats in paper cones, the perfect companion for a crisp November evening.

The saying goes, “No São Martinho without chestnuts and wine”, and we can’t argue with that.
